Kia announced in early September 2024 a few new additions to the 2025 Kia Niro models with different levels of electric power and three unique powertrains: Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), and EV (Electric Vehicle).
For enhanced safety, every all-new 2025 Kia Niro model (HEV, PHEV, and EV) will have rear seatbelt pretensioners.
The 2025 Kia Niro PHEV SX Touring trims now include the Cold Weather Package. This package adds a battery heater and heat pump, handy in cold weather when other SUV drivers may face challenges starting and restarting when it’s below zero degrees outside. This package also adds heated front seats and a heated steering wheel so you can get comfortable and drive while inside your Kia Niro in the winter season.
What are the trims for all the 2025 Kia Niro models?
The 2025 Kia Niro Hybrid (HEV) will be available in five trims: LX, EX, EX Touring, SX, and SX Touring.

The Niro EV specifications will be released later this year, but based on the 2024 model lineup, if this carries over to 2025, this model will include the Wind and the Wave trims.
What can you expect from the 2025 Kia Niro model lineup?
The 2025 Kia Niro Hybrid LX, EX, EX Touring, SX, and SX Touring trims will have the 1.6L Hybrid engine paired with the 6-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. The selectable drive modes help you adapt to challenging driving conditions from inside the Kia Niro.
The wheel selection includes 16- and 18-inch alloy wheels; every trim is fitted with the Kia Tire Mobility Kit.
With the auto-beam headlights, visibility is easier than ever, and the LED daytime running lights, rear lights, and rear spoiler stop lamps are bright.
The EX Touring trim and above have a power sunroof with a sunshade so you can control how much natural light enters. These same trims also have the power tailgate, which is handy when you don’t have enough hands to open it.
The interior includes leather seat trim and vegan leather trim in the SX and SX Touring trims. The seats are power-operated, ventilated, and comfortable.

The 2025 Kia Niro Hybrid LX, EX, and SX trims are expected to get an estimated 53 MPG combined city/highway. The EX Touring and SX Touring trims should get an estimated 49 MPG city/highway combined.
The 2025 Kia Niro PHEV trims have a total combined driving range of 510 miles, while the all-electric range is between 31 and 33 miles. We are still waiting to hear the range for the Niro EV. We will update this space when we know more!
