After showing off their first version of the UVO eService at the 2012
Consumer Electronics Show, they received a lot of positive feedback. Kia, however, continues to show their innovation by creating the second generation version which promises a lot of add-ons. The new features that will be offered in Kia vehicles will create some fierce competition, even when compared to top luxury brands.
The second generation UVO
eService will be highly compatible with smartphone
technology, something that was not available on the first generation. Henry Bzeih, explains, "With smartphone penetration nearing
50-percent in the U.S., UVO e Service extends our award-winning system's
abilities for telematics. The development focus for UVO e Services was to
deliver the connectivity, services, and notifications valued by vehicle owners
while also adding safety features, diagnostic information and innovations such
as our parked vehicle locator to create user-friendly experiences that exceed
people's expectations."1 Alan Jay Kia also wants you to know that similar to the first-generation UVO eService hands-free
capabilities (communication and entertainment management capabilities), the second gen version will allow users to operate in-car navigation systems via simple voice
activation.
While we simply cannot present all of the technology's features and benefits below, we have compiled a list that includes some of the key features:
- Hands free calling and navigation
- Hands free access to play, pause, and skip music
- Crash notification assistant
- Roadside assistant
- Automatic, Manual, and Scheduled vehicle diagnostics
- Vehicle maintenance reminders
- eServices guide
- Trip info
- Speed alert
- Car care Web
- Parallel park assist
While the list is long, there are still a number of features we didn't mention! In order to really appreciate the UVO system, you have to see it. While we are happy to explain everything it can do, once you see it for yourself, you will understand why it has gotten so much positive feedback from drivers. With that said, if you're interested in learning more about our new Kia Cars, feel free to contact Alan Jay Kia today. Better yet, take a drive down to 401 US Highway 27, Sebring, FL during our regular business hours and see for yourself. And remember, you can expect to see the second-gen Kia UVO eService available in new Kia models at Alan Jay Kia starting later in 2012.
